Bellfield Social Housing Project

Project description

Balmain & Co is proud to be working with one of Victoria’s largest Specialist Homelessness Organisations, Launch Housing as they partner with the Victorian Government and Banyule City Council on the Bellfield Social Housing Project. This community focused development will make an invaluable contribution to the community housing crisis as part of the Victorian Government’s Big Housing Build.

Once completed, Bellfield Social Housing will provide housing for people on the priority access list of the Victorian Housing Register. Sitting adjacent to the new Bellfield Community Hub and community garden, the development will form part of Banyule City Council’s broader precinct activation.

Consisting of 58 dwellings over 4 levels, Bellfield Social Housing will have generous indoor and outdoor communal spaces for residents to enjoy, bike and pram storage along with basement parking, offices and retail tenants at ground level. Designed by ARM, the development will feature an innovatively designed and sustainable building, showcasing best practice housing.

The delivery of this social housing development at Bellfield is specifically designed to keep low to moderate income earners connected to their community. It will also enable them to have the assurance and security of somewhere safe and affordable to live, along with providing well targeted economic stimulus, social benefits and creating jobs within the community.
